MEDWAY acquired a new locomotive 269-355 to operate exclusively in Spain. With this vehicle, MEDWAY's first electric locomotive in Spain, substantially increases the operating capacity in that country.The new locomotive 269-355 results from the joining of two locomotives 269, thus operating in multiple permanent mode - tandem non-deformable system - which gives it a load capacity similar to the Euro 4000 locomotives already used. The locomotive's main characteristics are the combined power of 6,200KW, the maximum speed of 140km / h and the tare of 176 tonnes, which will allow MEDWAY to double its activity on the route Madrid-Valencia. his is yet another bet by MEDWAY as a logistics operator integrated in sustainable transport, which allows it to continue promoting the reduction of the carbon footprint. With this investment, MEDWAY also continues to build the foundations of the company's future, of being the main rail freight operator on the Iberian peninsula. |
