MEDWAY joins the Operation Clean Sweep initiativeThe Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) is an international program that promotes the prevention of pellet, flake, and plastic powder loss throughout transport, handling, and storage operations. The dispersion of these materials can contribute to microplastic pollution and affect aquatic ecosystems. MEDWAY integrates this program as part of its commitment to sustainability and pollution prevention, strengthening training, operational control, and environmental responsibility among employees and partners. More information about the program is available at: www.opcleansweep.eu The OCS – Operation Clean Sweep program aims to implement measures to prevent the loss of plastic pellets, including plastic flakes and plastic powder, during transport, handling, cleaning, or storage. These materials may have a negative impact on the aquatic environment if they reach rivers, lakes, or the sea. Between 2023 and 2025, 119 employees attended OCS training and signed the commitment declaration for controlling the loss of plastic pellets. These training sessions also included the presence of our partner who performs activities in our facilities that may involve handling plastic pellets (container cleaning and repair). Since 2023, no pellet spills have been recorded. The evolution of Operation Clean Sweep’s performance is monitored through the OCS Program (PS MED GR 004) and is measured by the indicators listed in the table below, which includes results from 2020 to the first half of 2025. The overall trend of performance indicators has evolved very positively.

Sustainable Transport Certificate | MEDWAY
Since 2020, and as part of its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, MEDWAY has carried out an annual initiative dedicated to sharing with its Customers the results of the reduction in the amount of greenhouse gases (Ton CO₂ eq) achieved thanks to choosing rail transport instead of road transport. The most recent edition of this initiative took place in 2025. By receiving these results, Customers can verify and demonstrate the reduction of emissions associated with the transport of their goods within the life-cycle context of their products or services. This information helps strengthen the calculation of their ecological footprint and highlights their commitment to environmental sustainability by choosing a more efficient and planet‑friendly mode of transport.
