MEDWAY receives Ecoincentive in Spain

MEDWAY, the largest private rail freight operator in the Iberian Peninsula, has been awarded the eco-incentive for the promotion of rail freight transport based on environmental and socio-economic merit, in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), funded by the European Union - Next Generation, corresponding to the second call for the eligibility period 2023.

The final resolution has been published by Ministerial Order dated 11.12.2024, in turn published in the Official State Gazette dated 13 December 2024, awarding MEDWAY a grant of 3,738,539.16 €.

This concession helps, and reflects, MEDWAY's commitment to social, economic and environmental sustainable transport, in line with the Mercancías 30 Strategy of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Government of Spain, with the aim of promoting rail freight transport as a support for multimodal logistics chains, with the dual perspective of post-pandemic economic recovery, and a firm commitment to the decarbonisation and sustainability of rail transport.
