2024 ECO-INCENTIVE GRANT AWARDED TO MEDWAY

Medway, Spanish Branch, beneficiary of the eco-incentive programme financed by the European
Union – NextGenerationEU, through the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Spanish
Government.

Medway Operador Ferroviario de Mercaderías, S.A., Spanish Branch, has been a beneficiary of the third
call for proposals for the eco-incentive programme to promote rail freight transport, based on
environmental and socio-economic merit, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and
Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, for the 2024 eligibility period.
The final decision was published in the Official State Gazette on 16 December 2025.

Under this programme, Medway, Spain Branch, has received a grant of €5,543,626.51 from the Ministry
of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, charged to NextGenerationEU European funds, aimed at
promoting a more sustainable, efficient and environmentally friendly model of freight transport, promoting
the use of rail over other modes of transport.

This aid reinforces Medway's commitment to sustainability, reducing emissions and developing rail logistics
in line with the European Union's climate and ecological transition objectives and the Spanish Government's
Mercancías 30 Strategy.
